Not much is known about Fausten. He/she/they seem to like dogs and being tied up. Their sound is suffocating, brutal yet intricate, not dissimilar to Scorn, whose 2011 tour visuals they also produced. They disturbed listeners on Sub FM, have remixed Autechre’s cohort Anodyne, and are releasing an EP soon on fierce electronic label Combat Recordings.
As far as artist bios go, a postcard arrived from Austria last week with barely legible handwriting. “Fausten is Audio Visual project developed in a basement of the mountains. In our village is not so much things to do, so we build basements and make sound. One day a neighbor hears our cries. Instead of rescue, they ask for demo CD. A pain inside the anus is better than a pain in the heart.”
is a London-based label that specialises in fierce electronic music drawn from the unstable, creative space between electro, dubstep, breakbeat and electronica, combining strong points while keeping bass pressure up at redline levels.
